"Well worth the drive" Rachandstu's photos around Yosemite National Park, United States

Rachandstu's travel blog entry: "Having dropped Lizzie and Tara off at The Bellagio for their final night of luxury in Vegas, we began our massive drive to San Francisco. The plan was to drive as far as we could then stay in a motel and complete the rest of the journey the next day. While looking at the map, howver, Rachel discovered that it might be possible to pop into Yosemite National Park if we drove a very long way and got up incredibly early the next day. We'd wanted to visit this park initially but the roads had been closed due to snow so we didn't. With the weather warming up over the last couple of weeks, we decided to take the risk. And it was well worth it... We ended up driving 650 miles in total the first night and staying in Fresno at a motel We then got up at 5am to drive the remaining 100 miles to the park. Even with only a morning at Yosemite, we were able to see some incredible views including Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and Half Dome mountains, Bridalveil Falls and Yosemite Falls. We drove in the South Entrance, through the valley and out of the West Entrance and on to San Francisco. It was a busy National Park compared to some of the others we'd been, but when we arrived early, we pretty much had the place to ourselves which was amazing.
